Derek Walker

Wales is the only country in the world with a Well-being of Future Generations Act and the role provides advice and support to government and public bodies to take a longer-term view on policy decisions. The commissioner’s job is to protect and promote the needs of future generations. Derek Walker is the second ever Future Generations Commissioner, having started the role on March 1, 2023, when he called for ‘urgent and transformational change’ in Wales.
Jan van De Venis

Jan van de Venis is the acting Dutch Ombudsperson for Future Generations at the Lab for Future Generations. He has been vice chair of the global Network of Institutions for Future Generations since 2016 and is owner of law firm JustLaw. His practice concentrates on human rights and law in relation to sustainable development.
Professor Daniella Tilbury

Daniella Tilbury is a change-maker, policy expert and academic leader in sustainable development credited with having developed the initial frameworks for education in this field. She has acted as a policy advisor to national government agencies in Europe, Latin America and Oceania as well as travelled extensively in Africa and Asia to evaluate the investment and impact of programs in the area of sustainable development. Her early doctoral work, on frameworks for sustainable development, undertaken at the University of Cambridge, led to UN policy advisory roles and to her Chairing several UN Committees (1995 -2015).
Jonas G. Mikkelsen

Jonas is a transformational strategist and institutional builder working across governance, business and philanthropy to advance the interests of future generations. He formerly served as Chief Impact Officer at the Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies and continues to serve as a Fellow.
Taylor Hawkins

Taylor is Managing Director of Foundations for Tomorrow, a non-profit with the mission of advancing the protection of future generations in Australia, and an Advisor to the Our Future Agenda initiative of the United Nations Foundation, among her various other leadership roles.
Katerina Lambrinou

Katerina Eirini Lambrinou is a senior civil servant at the Hellenic Parliament with a diverse 25-year experience of the Greek and European political sphere. In parallel to her ongoing work as special advisor on international public affairs, strategic planning and global initiatives to former Prime Minister George A. Papandreou, she is currently partnerships lead in the Greek hub of Teach the Future, a global non-profit movement striving to promote futures literacy in the education sphere and beyond through cross-sector partnerships and initiatives. Since 2024, Katerina actively participates in the SOIF Futures Pioneers network, a cohort of early adopters, officials and politicians leading domestic foresight innovation and promoting the future generations agenda in their countries and communities.
